About The Area ...
Atlanta Breeze is located directly on the South West Coastal Path, said to be 'one of the World's Greatest Walks'. For the serious walker, it is a 630 mile walking route hugging the coast from Minehead in North Devon to Poole in Dorset. For the rest of us, Atlanta Breeze is situated less than a ten minute walk along the Coastal Path to the two blue flag beaches of Porthminster and Carbis Bay. Here, guests can enjoy amazing tranquility, and yet be within easy reach of all the amenities the area has to offer.
St Ives is truly a special place. Whatever the season, whatever the weather, it is impossible to tire of the beautiful, changing scenery, and the amazing light that has drawn artists to the town for generations. As a result, there are art galleries galore, ranging from the world famous Tate Gallery, to small galleries selling local artists' work. In many, you will find the artists working in their studios, and if you fancy trying your hand, there are many places where you can take short courses with a variety of different materials.
The town itself is a maze of narrow streets with a wide selection of quaint shops and boutiques, free of national chains and therefore maintaining its own unique character. St Ives boasts four superb beaches - Porthminster, Porthmeor, Harbour and Porthgwidden. Porthminster is sheltered from the prevailing winds and is a perfect white sand beach for the family, with safe bathing from the gently shelving sands. Porthmeor is the famous Atlantic Ocean surfing beach and attracts the younger visitors looking for the waves (with surf school if you fancy a try). The sandy beach in the working harbour faces South and catches all the sun - sunbathing in March is not unusual! Porthgwidden is a smaller cove, nestling beneath 'the Island' and sheltered by steep rocks on both sides. Everyone will find their favourite.

Although Atlanta Breeze has everything you need to self-cater, the selection of restaurants in St Ives means you can eat out as much as your budget will allow. You can enjoy numerous cafes and restaurants serving local fish dishes at a wide range of different prices, plus Chinese, Italian, Indian or Mexican cuisine. We can offer a babysitting service for guests who prefer to eat out occasionally without worrying about the children.
Further afield, Cornwall offers a huge variety of places to visit (we have listed a small selection on the right). In our welcome booklet we provide a pack of attraction leaflets for all visitors to take away, a Cornwall Life magazine with details of all the local events, and a selection of our personal favourite places to visit, with some useful tips to help you get the most out of your visit.
We are still new to the area and in many ways still feel like visitors ourselves. Every day we are grateful to be able to enjoy this unique part of the country.
